GymQuip Fitness was created in 1992 with our first location on Townsville St Fyshwick. We were the first specialised fitness store in Canberra and quickly outgrew our initial location. In 1998 we moved to 6 Ipswich St and tripled in size. The 1400m2 superstore covered 3 levels and allowed us to broaden our range.
In the early years we concentrated primarily on the domestic market, but over time we received more and more requests from the commercial market frustrated by lack of service from interstate companies. These companies were happy to sell equipment into the ACT, but after sales service was non-existent. We expanded into commercial market with some of the World’s best equipment, Matrix Fitness (formerly Johnson Fitness), a brand that we still proudly support today. Matrix is now the number 1 selling brand of commercial fitness equipment in the World with almost usd$1billion, that’s right $1billion! Our 48 hour onsite guarantee for our commercial clients was unheard of in the ACT. It gives great piece of mind knowing that our service division will be onsite to repair your equipment eliminating any unnecessary downtime on your gear. Our brands now also include Circle Fitness and Body Solid Strength.
